THE PLAIN-ENGLISH AGREEMENT
Terms of service and website use
The terms that apply when you browse RapidWebsites, order a managed website or use an optional service.
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Who we are. RapidWebsites and rapidwebsites.io are trading names of Riverforge Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 16827982. Our registered office is 3rd floor, 86–90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE. Email hello@rapidwebsites.io. You can also call 0118 242 2555.
These terms are written for a service supplied to businesses. If you order wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft or profession, mandatory consumer rights may also apply and nothing in these terms removes them.
1. Using this website
You may use this website for lawful purposes and to consider, buy or manage our services. You must not misuse it, interfere with security or availability, introduce malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, scrape it unreasonably, or use its content in a misleading or unlawful way. The examples, previews and template businesses are demonstrations unless clearly identified as real customers.
2. Forming a contract
The website describes the standard service, but submitting details does not itself oblige us to accept an order. A contract is formed when we accept your order and send confirmation, or begin work with your agreement. The confirmation, the service description shown at checkout, any agreed proposal and these terms form the contract. If they conflict, a specifically agreed written proposal takes priority, followed by the checkout description, then these terms.
3. The core service
The standard plan provides a five-page business website based on a predefined RapidWebsites design, customised with agreed branding, information and materials. It includes managed hosting, maintenance, security and backups, plus up to 30 minutes of small content changes per billing month. Unused update time does not roll over. Bespoke layouts, unlimited revisions, ecommerce, custom applications, complex bookings and work not listed in the order are excluded unless agreed separately.
If you provide final text, one reasonable round of pre-launch content revisions is included. If we develop text from rough notes or voice notes, revisions may be chargeable. Extra work is currently charged at £100 per hour in £25 increments unless another price is agreed first. We will seek approval before starting chargeable extra work.
4. What you need to do
- Provide accurate, complete information, decisions, access credentials and materials in time for us to do the work.
- Review the website and identify errors or requested changes promptly.
- Keep account credentials secure and tell us about suspected unauthorised access.
- Make sure you have the rights and permissions needed for names, text, images, logos, reviews, personal data and other material you give us.
- Ensure your business, claims, offers, legal pages and use of the finished website comply with applicable law and sector requirements.
You remain responsible for the accuracy and legality of your business content. We may refuse or remove material we reasonably believe infringes rights, breaks the law, creates a security risk or falls outside the agreed service.
5. Timing and launch
A stated 24-hour launch target runs on working days only after we have all required content, access and approvals. It is a target rather than a guaranteed deadline. Domain changes, third-party approvals, missing material, unusual technical issues or events outside our reasonable control may extend it. We will keep you informed of material delays.
6. Prices, payments and renewal
Unless checkout or a written proposal says otherwise, the core service costs £299 for setup and £49 per month, with prices shown are the amounts charged. The first monthly payment is due 30 days after the setup payment and the subscription then renews monthly until cancelled. Optional domains, mailboxes, third-party licences, advertising spend and additional work are charged separately when agreed.
You authorise the payment provider to take recurring charges using your chosen method. If payment fails, we may retry it and ask you to update the method. We may suspend work or the service after reasonable notice while an overdue amount remains unpaid. We will tell you before a price change affects a future renewal; you may cancel before the new price applies.
7. Domains and third parties
A domain registered for you belongs to you, subject to registry rules and payment of registration or renewal charges. We may manage it as your agent. You must keep registrant details accurate. Domain availability cannot be guaranteed until registration completes. Third-party products and services, including registries, email, payment, plugins and advertising platforms, may have their own terms, licences, outages and charges.
8. Ownership and licences
You keep ownership of material you provide and give us a non-exclusive licence to use, adapt, host and display it as needed to supply the service. Riverforge Ltd and its licensors retain ownership of RapidWebsites designs, themes, code, processes and other pre-existing materials. While your subscription is active, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use those materials as part of the hosted website.
A domain-only transfer is free. If you want to host the website elsewhere, the current £1,000 website export fee includes a licence to continue using the RapidWebsites theme and a ZIP of the WordPress files and database. Migration work and third-party licences are not included. We will explain the then-current export scope and price before you commit.
9. Refund promise, cancellation and consumer rights
Our commercial promise is that the setup fee is refundable if you ask within 30 days of purchase and before the first subscription payment has been taken. If refunded, the website is taken offline when the refund is processed. After the first subscription payment, the setup fee is non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
There is no minimum subscription term. You may cancel before the next payment through My account or by contacting us. Ordinary cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period and the hosted website then goes offline unless an export or other arrangement has been agreed.
If mandatory consumer cancellation rights apply, you may normally cancel a distance service contract within 14 days. If you expressly ask us to start during that period, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for work supplied before cancellation; the right may end once a service has been fully performed with the acknowledgements required by law. To cancel, clearly email us or write to the address above with your name, business, order details and a statement that you wish to cancel.
10. Suspension and ending the contract
Either party may end the contract immediately if the other commits a serious breach and, where it can be fixed, does not fix it within a reasonable written period; becomes insolvent; or continuing would be unlawful. We may suspend affected services where reasonably necessary for security, abuse, legal compliance or overdue payment, and will give notice where practicable. Ending the contract does not remove rights or amounts that arose before it ended.
11. Availability and warranties
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Hosting, internet, domain and third-party services are not guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free. Backups reduce risk but are not an absolute guarantee against data loss. Search position, visitor levels, advertising results, enquiries and sales depend on factors outside our control and are not guaranteed. Nothing in these terms affects a warranty or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Liability
Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited. Subject to that, neither party is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, anticipated savings, goodwill or data, arising from business use of the service. Our total liability arising from an event or connected series of events is limited to the fees you paid us for the affected service in the 12 months before the event. This section does not reduce any mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
13. Confidentiality and data
Each party will protect the other’s non-public confidential information and use it only for the contract, except where disclosure is required by law or to professional advisers and suppliers under suitable obligations. Our handling of personal information is explained in the privacy policy. If we process personal data solely on your behalf for your customer website, any required data-processing terms will also apply.
14. General terms
We may update website-use terms at any time and service terms for future orders. For an active subscription, we will give reasonable notice of a material change and it will apply from a future renewal unless the change is required sooner by law or security. You may not transfer the contract without our consent; we may transfer it as part of a reorganisation or sale provided this does not reduce your rights. If a term is unenforceable, the rest remain effective. Delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. No person other than you and Riverforge Ltd has a right to enforce the contract under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
15. Law and disputes
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a problem. These terms and any non-contractual dispute are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction for business customers. Consumers may have the right to bring proceedings in the part of the UK where they live.
